Summary:

This position plays a critical role in the management and execution of all assigned special events and volunteer event-focused programs for the Foundation. The Manager, Special Events contributes to the planning, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of impactful events that increase brand awareness, deepen supporter engagement, and strengthen donor loyalty. This role supports the creation of memorable Tim Hortons restaurant owner/donor experiences, seamless event operations, and revenue-generating initiatives that help advance the Foundation's mission.

Work location:

This role will be required to work from our Home Office located in St. George, ON a minimum of 3 days per week. This role will be required to travel to attend events as assigned throughout Canada and the USA.

What would you be doing?

Event Execution & Planning

  • Support the planning and execution of high-quality special events that enhance brand love and foster restaurant owner/donor engagement and loyalty.
  • Assist in developing innovative concepts, themes, formats, and audience engagement strategies for assigned events.
  • Execute event communications including copywriting, creative briefing for design assets, and the development of social, digital, and email collateral.
  • For assigned events, oversee day-of event logistics including guest experience, onsite fundraising activities, program flow, vendor coordination, volunteer oversight, and issue resolution.
  • Support event calendar planning, timelines, workback schedules, and milestone tracking to ensure flawless execution.
  • Lead committee engagement by participating in meetings, advising on best practices, and providing ongoing communication to enhance the event's fundraising capacity.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Manage event-related administrative tasks including budget tracking, invoice processing, vendor documentation, and event file management.
  • Support standardized event reporting through Salesforce and event technology platforms to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, guest experience, and event ROI.
  • Develop and operationalize tools, templates, and resources for staff, volunteers, and senior leaders.
  • Ensure all events adhere to accessibility, risk management, and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Does this sound like you?

  • Post-secondary education in event management, fundraising, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing special events and fundraising activities including grassroots, community, peer-to-peer, and large-scale with a track record of executing successful events and measuring results.
  • Understanding of charitable giving guidelines and CRA regulatory expectations related to special events.
  • Strong relationship-management skills with an ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers, committees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with excellent organizational and project-management skills; adept at balancing competing priorities, solving problems proactively, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce (or an equivalent platform). Experience in Canva is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States.
  • Are legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check.
  • Bilingual (French/English) considered an asset.
