Job Description:

• providing one-on-one support to the deaf/blind student who has mild to severe impairments and disabilities and allowing him/her to interact with the environment;
• providing motivation, sensory input, accurate information and a means of receptive/expressive communication;
• acting as the eyes and ears of the deaf/blind student;
• other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• a secondary school diploma;
• a 2 year Community college diploma in a related field (ex.DSW,CYW, SSW or a University Degree in a child related field of study);
• 2 years of related experience ;
• CPR, First Aid and American Sign Language;
• Braille and CPI would be assets;
• and the ability to work as a team member.
• Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

This is a term position with an anticipated start date of January 5, 2026 to June 25, 2026, with an annual salary range of approximately $48,782 – $52,246.
