Additionally, the Advisor supports the preparation of the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) by delivering detailed financial data, insightful analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The position leads the development and enhancement of financial models, dashboards, notes to financial statements, MD&A tables, and other reporting tools that serve both internal and external stakeholders. A significant aspect of this role is transforming manual reporting processes into streamlined, automated solutions that improve scalability, accuracy, and enable faster, data-driven financial reporting and decision-making.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Produce a complete set of accurate and compliant financial statements, while ensuring all disclosures meet IFRS, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Build and maintain key metrics, trend analysis, and financial performance reporting that supports leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to support audits, including schedules and responses to inquiries.
  • Develop and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting templates for MD&A, Financial Statements, Notes, and other internal/external reports.
  • Drive reporting automation and process optimization using tools such as Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot), Power BI, Yardi, and other systems.
  • Utilize Workiva for drafting and linking financial statements and disclosures, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and real-time updates.
  • Ensure data integrity through mapping, reconciliation, and validation between source systems and reporting outputs.
  • Lead special projects and collaborate across Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, IT, and operations to design reporting solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Document processes and share knowledge to upskill the team on reporting tools, automation, and analytical best practices.
  • We are a flexible and proactive team, readily taking on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • CPA designation or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in a public company environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, VBA Macros, Workiva).
  • Prior experience in external financial reporting, including MD&A and financial statements.
  • Proven track record in automating reporting processes and developing financial models.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

  • We live and breathe our core values. We go the extra mile. We're honest. We always have each other's back. We have tons of integrity. And we always own it and adapt – no matter the challenge.
  • With the support to do things differently, grow personally and professionally, and bring your whole self to work, there's no limit to the impact you can make.
  • An employee centric culture with paid time off for employer supported volunteerism, maternity leave top-up, a generous awards and recognition program, discounted monthly rent in Avenue Living properties, and employee savings program through industry partnerships.
  • We are committed to a strong, safe work environment.
  • We provide a competitive compensation package composed of a group benefits plan, GRSP matching, and a discretionary bonus program. In addition, Avenue Living also offers an Employee Referral Program that rewards active employees for successful referrals.
