Job Summary:

The Shop Manager & Tower Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, workflow, and productivity of the auto repair shop. This role combines the technical coordination of a tower operator with the leadership and business oversight of a shop manager as well as doing some diagnosing issue on vehicles. The ideal candidate is highly organized, skilled at multitasking, and able to lead a team while ensuring efficient shop flow and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign repair orders to technicians based on skill set, availability, and workload.
  • Monitor job progress throughout the day and adjust assignments as needed to maintain efficiency.
  • Prioritize repairs based on customer needs, appointment schedule, and shop capacity.
  • Communicate repair statuses to service advisors and provide accurate time estimates.
  • Ensure inspections, diagnostics, and recommended procedures are completed consistently.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks that affect shop productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with diesel trucks and commercial transport systems is an asset but not required.
  • Red Seal designation is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification is an asset but not required.
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Physical and Legal Requirements:

Applicants should be able to lift over 50 lbs. comfortably, pass a drug and alcohol test, and provide a clean 5-year driving abstract (minor infractions acceptable). A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.

Work Environment:

This is an on-site role at our Oxbow, SK, location. While the primary focus will be on passenger vehicles and light trucks, occasional work on diesel and commercial vehicles may be required.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
