Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, construction practices, and maintenance procedures. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing infrastructure in commercial and residential settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. The Journeyperson Plumber will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality workmanship on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing projects
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation and repairs
  • Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper integration of plumbing with HVAC, carpentry, and other building systems
  • Troubleshoot complex plumbing problems using technical knowledge of schematics and system layouts
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Document work performed and communicate progress to supervisors and clients effectively

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Plumber or similar role within the construction or maintenance industry
  • Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, schematics reading, and basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, and screwdrivers; familiarity with power tools for cutting and assembly tasks
  • Knowledge of welding techniques for pipe fabrication and repair
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Experience with carpentry skills beneficial for supporting structural aspects of plumbing installations
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and work in various environments requiring manual labor
