Essential Job Functions:

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality craftsmanship while representing Simco Management with professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and gas systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, hot water tanks, furnaces, boilers, and gas meters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics to support accurate installations and repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving pipes, valves, fixtures, drains, gas lines, and gas-fired appliances.
  • Test for gas leaks using approved detection devices and ensure all systems meet local, provincial, and national plumbing/gas code requirements.
  • Conduct system assessments, inspections, and testing to verify safety, performance, and compliance; replace defective parts as required.
  • Advise residents and property managers on safety features, system care, and maintenance best practices.
  • Respond to emergency calls related to water leaks, system failures, or gas escapes, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and system conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with condominium and rental property managers to complete work orders efficiently and uphold resident satisfaction.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Plumber certification and recognized Gasfitter qualification (Class A or Class B).
  • 5–10 years of experience in plumbing, gas fitting, or related building operations.
  • Experience working in multi-unit residential, commercial, or high-rise environments considered an asset.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills working with piping materials such as PVC, PEX, ABS, copper, and steel.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities across water, drainage, and gas systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes, gas fitting regulations, and general HVAC system operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specification documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with residents, peers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Good physical capability, including working in confined spaces, lifting equipment, and completing hands-on repairs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Possess and maintain standard hand and power tools required for plumbing and gasfitting duties.
