Position Purpose
The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst – Engineering is a high-impact role that integrates engineering methodologies with data analytics for future state supply chain development. This position delivers critical analytical support with regards to network build and deployment within Home Depot Canada. The individual collaborates with key stakeholders in distribution, transportation, replenishment, planning, finance and information technology, to determine channel methodology and provide support to facilitate the design and deployment of distribution centres for Home Depot Canada. This position requires experience in Network and Capacity Modeling for distribution centres, SAP EWM, SAP S/4

Position Responsibilities

  • Data extraction and analysis related to the design of new warehouses, remodeling existing facility layouts and distribution networks
  • Identify bottlenecks in supply chain processes using time-and-motion studies, simulation and statistical analysis
  • Solicit feedback from internal stakeholder groups to identify and gather key information and decision-making criteria
  • Mentoring and leading junior associates on the team, assigning deliverables, reviewing progress and providing feedback
  • Develop and analyze omni-channel distribution network models that include both upstream and downstream facilities for process improvement and maximizing capacity utilization
  • Train new team members on day-to-day engineering tasks, reporting. Build strong cross-functional relationships. Support design of new warehouses, warehouse channels through productivity analytics
  • Support various strategic and tactical projects, ensuring project deliverables are met. Prepare and present project details/updates as and when necessary
  • Establish and maintain communication channels with team members, management, appropriate business unit/s etc.
  • Ability to integrate change management, project management, process improvement management into all network design processes

Experience/Knowledge Required

  • 3-5 years of distribution/transport/planning and/or engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another business-related degree. Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior associates on the team on day-to-day tasks and key engineering initiatives
  • Experience utilizing Network Modeling Software. Experience with Manhattan WMS/SAP EWM, Productivity reporting an asset
  • Previous experience with logistics design analysis, distribution network or facility design and exposure to continuous process improvement initiatives are a definite asset
  • Ability to create and manipulate CAD drawings in AutoCAD, use of GBQ for data analytics
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and willing to travel
  • Experience with engineering support for omni-channel distribution network an asset
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and with tactically oriented, operational business owners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Extensive experience Microsoft Access and Excel
  • MS Office proficiency, incl. PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Excellent time management skills
