Community Engagement Specialist (Part Time-12 Month Contract)
Reports to: Manager, Community Engagement
Main Objective:
The Mentor Engagement Specialist will work with the Community Engagement team to engage and recruit Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) mentee residents and mentors in support of the TCHC Little by Little Mentoring Program initiative. This role would be ideal for self-motivated person, who is knowledgeable and engaged in the four TCHC communities below:
Candidate will be expected to work 20 hours per week at $25/hour

Candidate with previous experience working and/or residing in this community is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain solid, trusting relationships cross-functionally within all departments at More specifically in relation to the Little by Little Program.
- Actively participate in all Little by Little programs as mentor facilitator.
- Be a visible and dynamic ambassador for BBBST in the above mentioned communities.
- Develop and steward relevant community relationships for recruitment and
- Perform administration functions promptly including correct use of CRM Dynamics Case Management System and compliance with BBBSC National Standards of documentation and record keeping.
- Engage in a variety of networking activities in the prioritized communities to promote mentee and mentor recruitment for the Little by Little Program.
- Stay up to date on completing BBBST process on volunteer inquiry follow ups as assigned.
- Work with other members of the Community Engagement team as well as the Service Delivery team to develop and implement action plans to increase. awareness BBBST's need for volunteers and opportunities for children and youth.
- Facilitate information sessions virtually, in the community and within corporate offices for prospective volunteers as assigned.
- Organize, coordinate, and participate in volunteer recruitment fairs and promotion opportunities as assigned.
- Build relationships with referral Partners to encourage referrals of volunteers and young people.

Job Qualifications:
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (education, social or human services, child and youth work, family studies, community development, etc.).
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience working within communities, volunteer engagement and/or recruitment.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of community development as well as working with marginalized communities is an asset.
- Experience working in a diverse setting.
- Strong organizational
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and power point.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weeknights and some weekends as
