Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee our daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and comprehensive knowledge of field and project management experience on large scale construction, landscaping and groundwork projects.

The General Manager's focus will be to collaborate with the Project Management Team, Field Supervisor(s), and Clients. Day to day planning including; scheduling, tracking construction activities, establish production workflow priorities in keeping with project schedules and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor operations to optimize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Conduct interviews for potential new hires and participate in team-building activities.
  • Oversee large-scale landscape installation, including residential communities, city parks, green space and large commercial developments.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the day-to-day activities of crew members and sub-contractors.
  • Participate in construction activities and support your team in accomplishing daily production targets.
  • Implement operating methods and procedures designed to improve productivity and product quality with guidance from the Superintendent.
  • Review all project specifications, the scope of work, and site conditions with the Superintendent and help establish project schedules and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships for each project and ensure workflow and scheduling is being met. Attend project meetings as a representative of the company.
  • Identify hazards and other potential obstacles during project construction and recommend potential solutions.
  • Responsible for the overall health & safety of crew members and job site, including training, incident reporting, and enforcement with Field Operations manager
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluation, and communicate job expectations to direct reports.
  • Identify needs for supplies, materials, & equipment and report to the Project Coordinator, project Supervisor and Project Operations Manager.
  • Oversee the approval on all daily timesheets for all Project Sites, crew members and ensure time is coded to the proper job costing.
  • Practice, encourage, and enforce company corporate values.
  • Core Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, subordinates, and other colleagues.

· Reporting production, implement growth strategies. Monitor cost analysis, collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction managers to ensure adherence on project specifics.

  • Ability to effectively oversee the work activities of direct reports. Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of Field experience on large-scale landscape construction experience.
  • 3-5 years of Construction management
  • A class 5 driver's license is required
