Woodworking Machinist

Duties

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot woodworking machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other hand tools to produce high-quality wood parts.
• Maintain tooling, fixtures, and tooling setups to ensure consistent quality during production runs.
• Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve workflow efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Assist in assembly processes when necessary, utilizing power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to woodworking machinery and manufacturing processes.

Experience

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other woodworking machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
• Ability to work efficiently within lean manufacturing environments while maintaining high quality standards.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
• Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, welding techniques, forklift operation, and assembly processes is advantageous.
