What You'll Do
As a Radio Communications Technician, you'll support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of communication systems that power Alberta's industries. Working alongside experienced team members, you'll learn to:
- Install and service communication and electronic equipment on vehicles and in field environments
- Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and programming of radio equipment
- Perform radio diagnostics and programming
- Provide customer service and troubleshooting support in person and over the phone
- Work with conventional, trunking, and P25 radio systems
- Use electrical schematics, hand tools, and test equipment safely and effectively
- Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning
What You Bring
- Strong problem-solving, mechanical, and electronic aptitude electronic aptitude)
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
- A focus on safety and reliability
- An interest in electronics, technology, or communications
- Education or hands-on experience in a related field is an asset but not required
- If you're willing to work hard and learn, we'll provide the training and support to help you grow into a skilled technician.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Canadian Driver's License with a clean record (past 5 years)
- Able to provide a criminal record check
- Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing as required for site access
- A 2-year Electronics Engineering Technology diploma or related education is an asset, but not required
