Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to meet the needs of our clients and support our company's operations.
Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and commercial vehicles, including those with manual transmissions, to deliver products across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel usage.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
- Verify delivery contents against orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with warehouse activities such as inventory management, moving stock, and organizing supplies when not on delivery routes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with route driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver license preferred.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and moving of packages safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving, loading/unloading cargo, and operating warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to schedules.
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of driving, lifting, and moving goods throughout the day. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our logistics team by ensuring smooth operations from warehouse to customer delivery while maintaining high safety standards and excellent service quality.
