The Opportunity

Build the Future With Us – This is your chance to be part of a team shaping communities across Interior British Columbia. In this role, you'll apply your structural engineering expertise to impactful building projects that define tomorrow's skylines and enhance sustainability. This role is ideal for a self-starting, client-focused Structural Engineer who will be the first member of our Buildings Structural group in the Okanagan. While based in either Kamloops or Kelowna, the successful candidate will work closely with the broader BC team, contributing to projects across the region. 

Your Impact

  • Design and deliver structural solutions for commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential buildings across Kelowna and Kamloops.
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and innovative designs.
  • Apply advanced analysis and modelling tools to optimize structural performance and sustainability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their vision and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Contribute to projects that improve community resilience and meet evolving building codes and standards.
  • Support construction phases with technical guidance and problem-solving expertise.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain it.
  • 5+ years of experience in structural design for buildings (adjust based on confirmed level).
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, Revit).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and seismic design principles.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior engineers and guiding project teams.
  • Skilled in client engagement and building lasting relationships that drive project success.
  • Strategic thinker who can make sound decisions under pressure and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Passion for sustainable design and community-focused engineering.

Expected Salary (all locations): $93,400 to $128,500

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location
