The Cool Aid Health Centre provides healthcare to 7,000 patients, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, infectious disease, problematic substance use and chronic illness.
As a member of a very active pharmacy team within the Health Centre, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with the broader healthcare team to achieve Health Centre goals. This includes practicing client-centered care and providing medication distribution, individualized drug therapy, and drug information to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
- Experience working with individuals facing physical and mental health challenges, substance use, homelessness, poverty, or other barriers is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of, and ability to provide and monitor, opiate replacement therapies (methadone, buprenorphine) as well as knowledge of current treatments for HIV and hepatitis C.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Successful completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- Injection certified or willing to obtain injection certification, and able to provide pharmacy clinical services such as medication reviews, minor ailment prescribing, etc.
Job Information
- Hourly Wage Rate: $51.37–$64.19, commensurate with experience.
- Work Location: 713 Johnson Street. – Cool Aid Health Centre.
- Schedule: Alternating two-week rotation
- Week 1: Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Week 2: Monday and Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Weekly Hours: 35 (average)
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Union: Exempt
