You'll contribute to projects that support community safety, environmental resilience, and responsible land use across the province. Working closely with engineers, scientists, and technical specialists, you'll help shape meaningful outcomes for clients while advancing your expertise in environmental assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
Your Impact
- Demonstrate a strong Safety‑First focus, consistently applying site‑specific health and safety procedures and proactively identifying hazards to protect clients, colleagues, and the public.
- Support and lead project work across Phase I & II ESAs, remediation programs, and due‑diligence assessments aligned with Ontario Regulation 153/04 requirements.
- Contribute to client compliance with Ontario Regulation 406/19 by supporting excess soil characterization, tracking, and management strategies.
- Mentor and guide junior staff in their daily field and office tasks, fostering quality, accuracy, and safety in project execution.
- Develop work programs, conceptual site models, and proposals, ensuring clarity, scope alignment, and strong client relationships.
- Manage assigned projects end‑to‑end, including scheduling, budget tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
- Prepare project documentation—including health and safety plans, sampling plans, regulatory forms—and coordinate subcontractors and equipment.
- Conduct review and interpretation of historical records, lab reports, environmental data, and draft reports prepared by junior colleagues.
- Support senior team members with client engagement, business development, and long‑term strategic planning.
- Participate in field programs as needed, overseeing soil logging, groundwater and surface water sampling, surveys, soil vapour testing, and indoor air sampling.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in environmental sciences or engineering.
- Eligibility for Qualified Person (QP) designation under O. Reg. 153/04 (P.Eng. or P.Geo preferred; strong non‑QP candidates also considered).
- 5–7 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation, with strong working knowledge of O. Reg. 153/04 and O. Reg. 406/19.
- A passion for health and safety, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in both field and office settings.
- Willingness to spend time in the field to support and mentor more junior professionals.
- Ability to travel for short‑term project needs as required.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional local project work (reimbursable).
