About The Position
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Material Handler will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Efficient and accurate movement of materials in and outside of plants
- Rig, hoist and move materials to and from Walters.
- Assists in the movement of material in the plant/property by use of crane, forklift, tow motor etc.
- Ensures safe work practices are adhered to.
- Load planning and building.
- Loads and unloads trailers, as required, to Walters Standards.
- Ensures all tools and equipment are operated with care.
- Accurately fills out all required paperwork and ensures records remain up to date.
- Performs housekeeping tasks as assigned.
Work Location:
- Hamilton, ON.
- Working condition is primarily outdoors.
Position Requirements
- Previous experience operating all terrain forklifts and overhead cranes strongly preferred.
- Previous experience organizing shipping documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures.
