All-inclusive care is everything from cooking, cleaning, driving to and from appointments, administering medications, offering emotional and behavioral support, going on fun outings, and more Our team at IDMYS is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support in everything we do for the people we serve.
We are currently looking for Full-Time and Part-Time Residential Child and Youth Workers to join our amazing team at our Sooke location Position only available to Female Identifying Applicants.
Preference for Applicants who are able to work weekends.
Candidates must be local to Vancouver Island to be considered.

Compensation, hours, and location:
The Residential Child and Youth Worker is Grid 11, Compensation starts at 27.54 and requires union membership.
Shifts are either 7:30am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm, and positions are set by the agency at locations in the Westshore and Sooke.
Who We're Looking For:
Candidates who are looking to contribute to the growth and development of others, have a passion for helping others, and have experience working with at-risk children and youth. Candidates who are looking to grow their career in the social services field.
Candidates who are positive, empathetic, and hard working.
Additional qualities we look for are:
- Ability to work as a team and contribute to the plans of care.
- Excellent communicator who is understanding, patient, and non-judgmental while providing exceptional care to our youth.
- Computer literacy - ability to use multiple technology platforms.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Preference Given to those who have:
- Experience working with at-risk youth and/or people who have a mental health diagnosis.
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care, and experience providing trauma informed counselling (through behavior management, attachment based, relational, or other appropriate modalities).
- Experience administering and documenting daily medications.
- Experience working with suicide prevention and self-harm behaviour.
- Education in a related field (education, psychology, child and youth care, counselling, health care).
Qualification Requirements:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field and Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be 19 years or older.
- The equivalent to a Class 5 Driver's license required.
- Must obtain and maintain screening through the MCFD and the Ministry of Justice.
Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must complete screening through the Ministry of Justice and a Ministry Check. This requires applicants to provide police clearances from any country lived in outside of Canada for 6 or more month since turning 18. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly.
