Assistant Automotive Service Manager

Job Overview
The Assistant Automotive Service Manager supports the daily operations of the service department, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, efficient shop performance, and adherence to Canadian Tire standards. This role provides leadership to technicians and service advisors while helping drive profitability, safety, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the service department staff, including technicians and service advisors, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring all work meets quality standards and is completed in a timely manner
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, explaining repair needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement sales strategies to upsell additional services and parts effectively
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of all financial activities
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Train and mentor staff to improve technical skills, customer interaction, and upselling techniques
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive sales and service operations
- Mechanic experience or mechanical knowledge is highly desirable to better understand technical aspects of repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Strong sales aptitude with experience in upselling services and parts
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and foster a positive work environment
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices
