Alpine Civil Engineering Consultants Ltd. is seeking a Senior Civil CAD Designer to join our Kelowna team. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced designer who values accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration in delivering innovative civil infrastructure solutions. You'll oversee design development, mentor junior CAD staff, and work closely with engineers and project managers on complex municipal infrastructure, land development, roadways, and stormwater projects.

As a Senior Designer, you will:

  • Prepare and oversee advanced civil design drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D for subdivisions and urban infrastructure.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with engineers and project managers on design concepts, calculations, and detailed plans.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and clear communication.
  • Ensure designs comply with municipal, provincial, and company standards, including MMCD, TAC, BC Building Code, and local bylaws.
  • Incorporate Stormwater Management Guidelines for BC and environmental best practices.
  • Perform design reviews and quality control for compliance with regional standards.
  • Assist in preparation of cost estimates, tender documents, and construction specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization.
  • Mentor and train junior designers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent) and minimum 7 years of experience in civil design.
  • Is highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong knowledge of MMCD, TAC, BC Building Code, and local municipal standards.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership and mentoring skills within a CAD team.
  • Possesses excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Delivers exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in every drawing and model.
  • Is eligible for ASTTBC or similar professional certification (asset).
