Environment: Custom Millwork – not an assembly line. Our shop has individual workstations and a paint booth.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications (This means you can analyze the Shop Drawings to create a Material Cutting List that minimizes waste.)
  • Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on wood
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as Edge-banders, Sliding Table Saws and Mitre Saws, Drills, Laminate Files, Palm Sanders, etc. (power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components)
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners and installing hardware.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
  • Experience working with Plastic Laminates is required.
  • Experience building cabinets required.
  • Experience working with a CNC Machine is an asset but not required.

Other requirements:

  • The worker must be legally allowed to work in Canada and provide a Social Insurance Number.
  • Standing for extended periods during your shift is required due to the nature of the work.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs is required as that is the weight of 1 piece of melamine.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is required, to build boxes and drawers that are square and plumb.
  • With atleast 5 years of experience

Benefits:

  • Wages are paid weekly, every Friday by direct deposit based on 43.0 hours per week.
  • 4% Vacation Pay is paid out on every paycheque
  • Extended Health and Dental Benefits after 6 months

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$29.00 per hour
