Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a full time (40 hours per week) Hardware Sales Clerk at our Home and Building (HABS) location in Swan River, MB.

What you'll do:

The successful candidate is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op's guiding statements; merchandising and displaying product; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards. Core duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate a cash register and point of sale system, and assist with daily cash audits when necessary.
  • Perform all duties associated with inventory stocking, including receiving and assisting with inventory counts when required. 
  • May participate in ordering product.
  • Mix paint as required and make product recommendations.
  • Maintain shelf and display stock and organizing all goods intended for sale to meet established standards.

Who you are: 

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

  • You have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
  • Highly motivated and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days and Saturdays.
  • Manual/heavy labour (lifting up to 50lbs) on a repetitive and regular basis.
  • Previous lumber/hardware experience would be an asset but is not required.
  • You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
