With strategically placed manufacturing locations in Ancaster, ON, Montreal, QC, Leduc, AB and Wetaskiwin, AB, Vulcraft Canada is able to successfully serve our customers throughout the Canadian market. Vulcraft Canada, Inc, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently looking for riggers and welders to join our Leduc team.We are a Canadian NUCOR Vulcraft division. The safety of our team is our top priority. We manufacture open web steel joists and steel decking.  We are looking to add Riggers and welders who are driven, hardworking individuals who are looking to join a team atmosphere.  We are willing to train the right candidates. CWB GMAW Tacking/Flat Fillet certification and experience an asset.RESPONSIBILIITIESPreform all tasks Safely and look out for teammates.Perform various fit up and tacking operations on a variety of structural assembliesInterpret weld symbols and follow weld proceduresAdding stiffeners, brackets, face plates, etc. using shop orders for location prior to finish weldingPerform production GMAW operations on a variety of plate, bars, channel and related materials working off shop orders and/or verbal instructionsSetting welding machine to assure uniform bead, adequate penetration with minimum wrapUtilizing cutting torch as requiredPerforming cleaning operations when required using chipping hammer or grinder to remove burn-through and spatterUtilize overhead crane to lift within capacity of craneMaintaining work area and equipment in a clean an orderly conditionPerform tasks as required by SupervisorCompensationCompetitive wageProfit sharing.Stock purchasing options.Benefits.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma.Must have basic math skills to calculate measurements.Must know how to read and use a tape measure.CWB certification in GMAW and MIG preferred.Prior experience in the steel industry is considered an asset. Vulcraft Canada, Inc. is committed to providing accommodations for applicants with disabilities; please contact us if you require an accommodation during the recruitment process.Job Type: Full-time Vulcraft Canada, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
