Accounting Consultant – Technical Accounting & Reporting (US GAAP)

100% Remote | Contract | Multiple Openings

We are supporting a
renewable energy organization operating in a post-acquisition environment
and seeking multiple
Accounting Consultants
to provide interim support across technical accounting and financial reporting. These roles are
100% remote
, contract-based, and expected to start
after the New Year
.

The organization is undergoing changes to
systems, and processes
, and is looking for experienced professionals who can step in quickly, bring stability, and apply strong
US GAAP
judgment in a dynamic environment.

The Opportunity

This opportunity is well-suited for
mid- to senior-level professionals
, including
Accountants, Senior Accountants, Senior Financial Analysts, and Senior Consultants
, who are comfortable working in transitional environments.

The client is seeking a mix of
hands-on contributors
as well as professionals who can
review work and provide guidance
to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
(Depending on Background & Experience)

  • Support technical accounting and financial reporting under
    US GAAP
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries, account reconciliations, and close deliverables
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Support preparation and review of financial statements and reporting packages
  • Draft or support accounting position papers and documentation
  • Partner with accounting, reporting, FP&A, and AP teams
  • Provide guidance and review support as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of
    US GAAP
    (required)
  • Experience supporting accounting close and reporting activities
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Comfortable operating in evolving, post-acquisition or transitional settings

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in
    energy, renewables, utilities, or asset-heavy industries
  • NetSuite
    experience
  • Prior interim, contract, or consulting experience

Location Requirement

  • Candidates must be located within Canada
    and able to work remotely
