Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver's license, familiarity with commercial driving, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with potential growth into related areas such as forklift operation and automotive repair.

Duties

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
  • Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to company routes and schedules.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance or report issues for repairs.
  • Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and freight handling.

Experience

  • Prior experience in commercial driving or freight transportation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, or automotive repair is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Experience with loading/unloading freight and operating heavy machinery is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and freight handling.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS or maps efficiently in various environments. This role offers an engaging work environment for individuals committed to safety, efficiency, and excellent service delivery in transportation operations.
