Regina Public Library invites applications for the position of an Indigenous Storyteller in Residence. This 16-week residency will provide an opportunity for our community to connect and access Indigenous traditional knowledge and worldview through stories and community engagement. 
Storytelling can be defined as sharing traditional knowledge, history, personal stories, or sharing skills. Storytelling programs can take many forms and include a variety of activities that facilitate engagement with Indigenous culture, such as, music, writing/poetry, arts and crafts, digital media, and more.
Activities Include: Deliver storytelling programs in the library and in community spaces. Develop events and projects to engage the public through interactive workshops and presentations, both in-person and online, and provide support to community members and aspiring storytellers through one-on-one or small group consultations. Create partnerships within the community to promote Indigenous worldviews and enjoyment of storytelling and oral traditions. 
Remuneration: The Indigenous Storyteller in Residence salary is up to $16,000 for the 16-week residency with a total of 320 hours for the term - with a minimum of 20 hours per week depending upon operational considerations and mutual agreement. Hours will include evening and weekend work.
