Fabrication Estimator

AWC Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review customer drawings and specs to develop time estimates for processes
• Prepare drawings using AutoCad and Solidworks as required
• Prepare material takeoffs and shop process instructions
• Work closely with customers, vendors, engineering, outside sales, production and quality team members
• Perform job costing analysis

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Technologist certificate or equivalent an asset
• Previous sales & estimating experience an asset
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Solidworks software an asset
• Working knowledge of Visual (or other ERP) software an asset
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – email, word, excel
• Blueprint reading skills required
• Knowledge of shop processes (including welding, fitting and CNC machining)
• Knowledge of weld symbols and geometric tolerancing
