Our client, a leading importer of branded apparel for men, women and kids, is looking for a
Senior Outerwear Designer
to join their team

Responsibilities

  • Presenting seasonal lines developed, providing relevant insight consistent with

market trends for their outerwear division.

  • Support merchandiser in specific design development projects
  • Trend research. (Keep up to date with emerging and current trends)
  • Work in collaboration with buyers and sales team on trends and customer needs
  • Create design and technical sketches (CADS )
  • Create, develop, and edit detailed technical packages, including detailed technical

sketches in Adobe Illustrator and Technical BOMs (bill of materials)

  • Creating and overseeing design to ensure quick flow through and strong adherence

to the production calendar

  • Work closely with the fit and spec / technical team to ensure the styling and quality

from development stage of each product to final production.

  • Approve production sample

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of experience in a similar role
  • College-level degree in Fashion Design or related experience
  • Relevant experience in contemporary fashions is a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent fashion sense and ability to translate trends
  • Proven experience in garment construction and design
  • Proven knowledge of the production cycle
  • Proven ability to collaborate with all functions and all levels
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and be flexible
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Results oriented
  • A strong team player with the ability to influence others
