What you'll be doing
As a Consultant, Simplii Vendor Management, you will act as the point of contact for Simplii engagements and manage the performance of key vendors and manage our cards portfolio. You will lead risk assessments for new and changes to existing supplier contracts, participate in client meetings, and monitor product and service performance. Additionally, with the support of the procurement team, you will negotiate contracts with vendors and provide recommendations to Senior Management and Executives on vendor arrangements and costs.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Evaluate new and existing vendors who can help us realize the full potential — trading off between efficacy, user experience, and cost.
- Strategic Initiatives: Working with Product Managers to develop long term strategies with our vendors, with a high focus on customer service and partnering for shared success.
- Partner Performance: Manage and optimize the performance of assigned partners. Act as a key point of contact for partner relationships. Ensure regular partner business review meetings are occurring with the appropriate parties, as required by the service agreement or as directed.
- Partner Governance: Ensure vendor governance activities are completed as required for assigned vendors to ensure adherence to contractual terms and CIBC policies (e.g. provide policy updates to vendors, obtain attestations from vendors, ensure change management procedures are followed). Maintain documentation demonstrating adherence for audit purposes.
- Partner Enhancements: Develop an expert understanding of the assigned partner services/processes/costs/capabilities in order to support, analyze and manage change initiatives and issues resolution affecting the assigned partners. Partner with the vendors and internal stakeholders across CIBC to continuously launch, optimize, and scale services.
- Contract Management: Support business needs on the developments and execution on new contracts with existing or newly-onboarded vendors. Manage business reviews that are triggered by partner contract events to determine any actions that may be necessary to ensure the contract supports the current business needs. Complete any analysis of partner performance, cost and services for contracts and provide change requirements to the Manager, Contract Services as required to ensure contracts reflect current business requirements. Facilitate discussions among CIBC stakeholders with the partner to reach an agreement on the business terms of any contract updates and new contracts.
- Analytical - Understand and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends in new or strategic areas, and develop recommendations, often with minimal direction to respond to urgent business priorities.
