Kickstart—or continue—your electrical career with A & R Electric Ltd., a Western Canada–based electrical contractor. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman / woman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be based in or around North Surrey, Burnaby, New Westminster, Vancouver, Richmond, North Van, West Van and able to travel to job sites and our shop locations in Surrey, Burnaby, and New Westminster.

Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the Lower mainland, primarily Surrey and Langley.


Experience Requirements

· Journeyman Electrician.

· Red Seal Journeyman Electrician: Level 4th Year apprenticeship

· Total work experience: 4+ years


Responsibilities

· Take direction from the foreman or site supervisor and assist Journeypersons or senior apprentices as required

· Complete all required daily safety paperwork and customer safety documentation

· Meet performance expectations set by the Journeyperson or site supervisor

· Prepare accurate material lists for upcoming tasks

· Achieve daily production goals as part of a team

· Troubleshoot and maintain lighting systems

· Perform lighting maintenance and service work

· Maintain and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings

· Work on residential homes, smart homes, new builds, townhomes, condos, and commercial units

· Perform service upgrades (asset)

· Travel to various job sites across the Lower mainland

· Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions

· Perform physically demanding tasks, including:

o Working at heights

o Trenching and underground installations

o Pulling and strapping cable

o Cable terminations

o Lighting and fire alarm installations


Qualifications

· Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification

· Red Seal Electrician (required)

· Strong residential electrical background

· Ability to troubleshoot both residential and commercial systems

· Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record

· Willingness to travel to job sites (100% preferred)


Compensation & Benefits

· Hourly Wage: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience)

· Additional Pay:

o Overtime opportunities

o 6% statutory/sick pay

o 6% vacation pay
