Job description

Master Choice Learning is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Mathematics teacher who enjoys working with students from K-G12. Experience from G3-6 is highly preferred.

This is a part-time position with a mix of either in-person and virtual classes. The ideal candidate would need to be flexible on weekends and a minimum of 2 weekdays. Hours vary from 4-8 hours on a weekly basis for each teacher, schedules are confirmed per Semester (Fall, Winter, Summer).

In-person classes will be held at our physical location. (L3R 1J5, Markham, ON)

*teachers that are familiar with Singapore Math or Beast Academy are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience: Previous classroom experience in teaching Math is REQUIRED. Candidates should be familiar with a range of math textbooks such as Nelson's, Singapore Math, AoPs, and others. Teach individual students in one-on-one settings and in small group.
  • Curriculum Development: Ability to develop your own teaching materials, slides, and topics tailored to the individual needs of students. Customize teaching methods to meet the learning styles of students.
  • Develop and implement personalized lesson plans based on the individual needs of each student, including recommended textbooks and self-developed materials.
  • Provide small group tutoring sessions to students across elementary and high school levels, focusing on key math concepts and problem-solving skills.
  • Help students improve their math skills, prepare for school tests/competitions, and build a strong foundation in mathematics.
  • Design and administer tests and quizzes to monitor student progress and enhance their learning process.
  • Deliver lessons with the aim of achieving the objectives of our institution.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experiences Teaching Math under the Ontario Curriculum.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
  • OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher) certification preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills and personality. Have the ability to lead an engaging classes in a online and in-person setting.
