A Day in the Life:
This position will split its time in support of the Transfer Facility Department and the EHS Department. At the Transfer Facility this position will support the Transfer Facility Supervisor to ship loaded rail cars, track daily rail car movement on the Harrowby site, and order empty cars for future rail car and hopper shipments. In the EHS Department this position will support the EHS Manager to maintain accurate records and documentation of the Environment, Health, and Safety activities at Harrowby.
What You'll Be Doing:
Cultivate strong relationships with carriers and optimize freight operations, and rail shipments to achieve cost efficiencies and service levels.Uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.Proactively resolve transportation and carrier-related issues, handling complaints, managing disputes,Perform other duties as assigned.Perform the morning car count of all cars on the tracks, writing down location and car numbers.Assist the Transfer Facility Supervisor, to verify cars on site, car traces, and cars being shipped, to determine the overall car status, for the location. Order cars through the CP portalTrack rail car services and charges to control and reduce location rail costs.Maintain all safety data information for the site.Maintain Environment & Safety records, both physical and in the EHS database.Other related duties as may be required.Provide backup coverage as required.Skills/Experience Requirements:
Completion of a post-secondary education in logistics discipline preferred or equivalent work experienceThree to five years experience in business administration, logistics, transportation, supply chain or related field required with Food and/or related experience preferred.Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PP) SAP, GrainSuite and other technical software applications.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to learn, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced changing environment.Ability to work collaboratively on teams with other managers both internal and external to the facility.Candidate must be friendly, collaborative, intelligent and hard-working.Benefits:
