We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Technical Writer
with a strong background industrial operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a technical foundation and a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

Our talents have been engraved into mid to large-size projects in Western Canada and many places around the globe. Our highly specialized resources are sought after for the optimization of processes and the discovery of solutions that maintain all stakeholders' needs and desires. We provide services in the field of industrial technology including Electrical & Instrumentation, Industrial Ethernet, Cyber-security, Automation Integration, and Data Visualization & Analytics, in addition to backing each department with a strong field maintenance support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including:
- Operation and maintenance manuals
- Control system documentation
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Safety and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, HSE professionals, and operations teams to gather technical data.
- Ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract and validate technical information.
- Edit and revise existing documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Manage documentation libraries and version control systems.
- Support training and onboarding materials for technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on industrial operations and maintenance.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with control systems, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., MS Office, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Visio).
- Strong understanding of technical writing standards and information design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with docs-as-code workflows (e.g., Git, Markdown).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance in oil and gas (e.g., CSA, API, OSHA).
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and engineering drawings.
