Job Overview

We are hiring for part time and full time positions at our cafe/bakery. We are looking for someone who is friendly, has customer service experience, attention to detail and can create a warm and welcoming community atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide friendly service
  • Assist in preparing coffee and baked goods and other food items according to established recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the customer and bakery area in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Operate POS system for customer transactions and cash handling
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including serving customers and upselling bakery products
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain product quality and safety
  • Restock display cases and storage areas as needed to ensure product availability
  • Support team members during busy periods by assisting with food preparation and customer service tasks
  • Opening/closing the cafe as needed
  • Availability in evenings when needed during busy periods

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, bakery, or restaurant environments is an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
  • Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a food industry setting
  • Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen or food industry experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting light boxes
  • Punctuality for opening the cafe on time
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation, upselling, and food handling procedures

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
