About the role:
 
An exciting permanent part-time (30 hours per week) position at Calvary-Kogarah providing administrative (medico-legal) support to ensure smooth operations and contributing to compassionate patient care. The role entails processing requests for the release of information (ROI) contained in a person's clinical record. The role is responsible for conducting complex records/ filing audits, providing information management training and data analyses and reporting.
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Provide a range of administrative services in relation to the Release of Information in accordance with various legislative instruments ensuring that the information adheres to Calvary and NSW Health policies.
  • Register requests on the confidential database and ensure all relevant documentation is retrieved from the hospital EMR information systems to comply with the request/subpoena.
  • Draft accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence, including the preparation of complex correspondence in accordance with Calvary and NSW Health policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

1. Demonstrated experience in providing a wide range of high-level administrative services in a demanding environment.

2. Demonstrated ability to write accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence with strong attention to detail.

3. High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

4. Demonstrated ability to work independently using initiative and judgement to solve problems.

5. Demonstrated commitment to work as part of a team in providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and standard office software packages and the ability to learn new systems as required.

7. Demonstrated experience in responding to a range of enquiries and ability to determine the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
