Your Impact

You'll contribute to real‑world project delivery through:

  • Performing geotechnical and materials laboratory testing (Proctor, Gradation, Hydrometer, Atterberg Limits, Concrete Testing) in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, CSA and CCIL standards.
  • Supporting construction QA/QC activities including field density testing, concrete testing, subgrade inspection, and on‑site materials verification.

  • Collecting, entering, validating, and interpreting test data to support clear, accurate reports for client review.
  • Conducting geotechnical instrumentation monitoring and participating in field supervision of earthworks contractors.
  • Maintaining equipment calibration logs, identifying non‑conformances, and contributing to quality audits.
  • Working both independently and collaboratively in field, lab, and office settings to meet project objectives.
  • Applying safety‑first practices by following all WSP policies, procedures, and field protocols.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • You're enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology program (or bring equivalent experience) and thrive in hands‑on environments.
  • You're comfortable working outdoors on uneven terrain, in variable weather, and can lift up to 25 kg as part of daily tasks.
  • You enjoy autonomous fieldwork and want something different from a standard desk job.
  • You can travel to job sites and work extended hours or weekends when project schedules require it.
  • You're fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and bring strong attention to detail in documentation.
  • You hold a valid Canadian driver's licence and clean abstract.
  • Training such as Standard First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, or Ground Disturbance is an asset.
