4 month work term: Jan – April 2025

How You Will Contribute
RSP QA is a Quality Assurance Test Team focusing on the quality of new SW feature development for our IP Switching platforms. This includes both manual and automation testing.

You will have the opportunity to learn from expert colleagues and mentors on your path to continuous learning while developing skills in technologies such as system & network virtualization (Containers, SDN, NFV), sophisticated routing, BGP, Segment Routing, EVPN, LDP, MPLS, Fast switchover, Ethernet services, Passive Optical Networks (PON), Synchronization & Timing Solutions, and more.

You Will

• Work with Engineers to assist with setting up new Lab Topologies to help in your development and understanding of integrated end to end IP systems.
• Enhance existing Automation scripts written in Python as well as develop new scripts. This will give you direct exposure to the importance of SW Automation and its benefits.
• Execution of specific test suites, raise software bugs and retest once resolved, giving the candidate an understanding of the SW development cycle and process.

The Must Haves

• Working towards completion of an Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems/Technology or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of software development concepts.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Python.

Assets

• Understanding of data communications, including packet/IP networks.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.
• Excellent communication skills.

The pay range for this position is $ /hour

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
