STUDENT - RECREATION & CULTURE
The City of West Kelowna has an opening for a student in the Recreation and Culture Department. The student will assist the Program and Event Coordinators with all aspects of summer programing. This would include our summer day camp programs, specialty camps, Park Play Days and special events such as Music in the Park. There also may be opportunities to instruct various children's programs in the spring.

REQUIREMENTS:Enrolled in a Recreation / Leisure Services program is preferred, or related discipline, at a post-secondary institutionMust be attending college or university during the last school term and returning to studies in the subsequent academic yearAbility to teach sport and recreation skills and manage large groups of childrenDemonstrated computer skills in Microsoft OfficeStrong customer service skillsExcellent communication skills – both verbal and writtenGood interpersonal and organizational skillsAble to provide a current police information checkAbility to work flexible work hours, including evenings and weekendsValid Class 5 or 7 BC Drivers License; Drivers Abstract will be required when applyingThis position will start in May until the end of August working 35 hours per week.  The hourly rate will depend on the post secondary program you are attending, ranging from $ $25.29 plus 14% in lieu pay. The position will require occasional shift work including weekend shifts
