Aqua Life Swim Academy is a growing, community-focused swim school committed to excellence in safety, education, and personalized instruction. We believe strong aquatic leadership saves lives, and we're looking for an experienced, passionate professional to lead our Bronze certification programs and serve as an Examiner.

This is a contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys teaching at a high standard and wants flexible scheduling (weekends and school breaks).

Role Overview

The Aquatic Leadership Instructor & Bronze Examiner is responsible for planning, delivering, evaluating, and examining Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses, ensuring candidates meet all Lifesaving Society standards while feeling supported, challenged, and confident.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses
  • Prepare instructional materials that accommodate different learning styles and abilities
  • Evaluate candidates according to Lifesaving Society program must-sees
  • Provide clear, constructive verbal and written feedback throughout the course and during final evaluations
  • Serve as a Bronze Examiner, conducting formal evaluations with professionalism and consistency
  • Complete all administrative requirements promptly, including:
  • Attendance records
  • Candidate progress tracking
  • Course documentation and test sheets
  • Communicate any concerns related to candidate performance, safety, or incidents to the Aquatic Manager
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and risk management at all times
  • Enforce facility rules and safety standards proactively
  • Assist with set-up and take-down of equipment; report and remove unsafe or damaged equipment immediately
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies as trained and certified

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience teaching Bronze Medallion and/or Bronze Cross
  • Current Bronze Examiner certification
  • Current Lifeguard certification
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check
