About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Performance Engineer to join our Toronto-based technology team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in performance testing, resiliency and disaster recovery validation, and end-to-end performance monitoring across complex, distributed systems. You'll work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure application stability, scalability, and performance under various load conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and resiliency tests using LoadRunner and JMeter.
  • Conduct resiliency testing and disaster recovery (DR) validation to ensure system reliability.
  • Analyze performance test results and perform root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts, dashboards, and reports for continuous performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to design performance-efficient solutions.
  • Leverage monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, MQ, Kafka, and Postman.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, Java, and JavaScript code for testing and analysis.
  • Provide detailed performance reports and improvement recommendations to stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with LoadRunner and/or JMeter.
  • Proven experience in Resiliency Testing and Disaster Recovery Testing.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Expertise with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools – Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, Grafana.
  • Experience with MQ, Kafka, and Postman for messaging and API validation.
  • Solid understanding of Performance Engineering, Root Cause Analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to Banking domain projects, preferably with payment processing systems (SWIFT, ACH, Wire).

Nice-to-Have:

Knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized performance testing.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated performance validation.

Pay: $40.00 per hour
