What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Director, Capital Procurement, leads end-to-end strategic sourcing and commercial execution for GTAA's multi-year capital program. You will develop and implement category strategies, manage complex RFX processes and negotiations, and ensure competitive, transparent procurements that deliver value-for-money and enable timely project delivery. Acting as the primary interface with Airport Development and Technical Services, you will provide procurement expertise and leadership to support GTAA's capital program objectives.

As a Director, Capital Procurement, you will:

  • Lead development of multi-year capital procurement strategies aligned with GTAA's capital plan.
  • Oversee major procurements and commercial execution for high-value capital projects.
  • Design and manage supplier prequalification frameworks and market engagement initiatives.
  • Champion governance, policy adherence, and compliance across all capital procurement activities.
  • Implement structured intake and pipeline planning for capital sourcing needs.
  • Partner with Supplier Relationship Management to monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive and service-focused culture.
  • Provide thought leadership to align procurement strategies with corporate goals.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience, including at least 7 years in leadership roles managing complex, high-value capital projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year category strategies for capital procurement.
  • Deep knowledge of procurement principles, contract law, risk allocation, and dispute resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with complex RFx processes, commercial negotiations, and governance frameworks.
  • Exceptional ability to lead high-performing teams, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate complex procurement strategies clearly.
  • Experience in capital-intensive, regulated, or infrastructure environments is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business/Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
