Toronto, Ontario, Canada Lyrical Security Full time

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex security and technology projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. This is a 0.6 FTE (24 hours / week) temporary contract role through December 2026 with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit.

This role is for a doer and decision-maker, not a coordinator. You will be expected to actively drive projects forward, manage risk, challenge assumptions, and keep momentum while maintaining a positive, professional, and client-friendly approach.

You will lead a wide range of engagements, from short-duration projects such as penetration tests and threat risk assessments, to longer, more complex initiatives such as MDR onboardings that require change management, cross-functional coordination, and adaptability in environments where there may not be a predefined methodology.

Disclosure: This job posting is for an existing vacancy currently available for immediate hire.

What Success Looks like

  • Projects move forward without frequent escalation or intervention
  • Risks are identified early and addressed proactively
  • Clients feel supported, informed, and confident rather than managed by bureaucracy
  • Delivery decisions are driven by data, outcomes, and risk rather than habit or rigid process
  • Teams stay aligned and accountable, even in ambiguous or novel situations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of security and technology projects of varying size and complexity
  • Drive momentum by making timely, informed decisions and holding stakeholders accountable
  • Adapt project approach based on project scope, risk, and client context rather than forcing a single methodology
  • Quickly assess unfamiliar or unique client environments and define a practical path forward
  • Ensure projects deliver measurable outcomes aligned to client expectations and business goals
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for project delivery
  • Build strong working relationships with clients through clarity, transparency, and results
  • Facilitate alignment across internal teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders
  • Confidently surface issues, trade-offs, and risks while proposing solutions
  • Support change management efforts during onboarding and transformation initiatives
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Use data, metrics, and trend analysis to inform delivery decisions and prioritization
  • Right-size project governance and documentation based on project risk and impact
  • Avoid unnecessary administrative overhead while maintaining appropriate controls
  • Escalate issues with clear options and recommendations rather than open-ended problems
  • Own project initiation and delivery controls, including intake, kickoff, project setup, and active management of scope, schedule, and budget throughout the lifecycle

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading projects as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects to completion
  • Strong decision-making skills with a bias toward action and accountability
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and defining structure where none exists
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to guide delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in client-facing situations
  • Strong understanding of project risk management and stakeholder alignment
  • Eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract
  • Experience delivering cybersecurity, technology, or IT projects would be an asset
  • Prior experience as a business analyst or the ability to discover requirements and ask the right questions would be considered an asset
  • Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent credential is considered an asset, but demonstrated delivery experience and results matter more than formal certification
