Job Description

Right at Home is looking for experienced, professional personal support workers to add to our team of exceptional caregivers and assist with 1:1 client care on Vancouver Island in the DUNCAN/COWICHAN AREA

Must be available Wednesday to Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm.

  • Our candidates will need:
  • Police Criminal Background Check with VSS
  • Updated immunizations and proof of Covid-19 vaccinations
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • HCA certification or equivalent and registration with BC Care Aid Registry
  • Current certificate in standard first-aid and CPR
  • Ability to travel freely to see clients

Duties:

  • Assisting with personal grooming
  • Bathing
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Mobilization activities (turning, transferring, exercising and walking)
  • Toileting
  • Eating and meal preparations
  • Specialty care an asset (i.e. Alzheimer's, Dementia, Chronic Conditions)
  • Companionship, outings
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with the support of your team
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of caregiving
  • Must be passionate, patient, caring and committed

Work Locations:

Duncan / Cowichan Bay Area (Vancouver Island)

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
