Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical or dental office environment and be proficient in handling various administrative tasks. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing excellent patient care, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to answer calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with the intake process, including collecting patient information and verifying insurance details.
  • Utilize software such as MedAccess for managing patient records and scheduling.
  • Process billing and payments efficiently while addressing any billing inquiries from patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front office area to enhance operational efficiency.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant or Dental Receptionist is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication and documentation.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems is an advantage.
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in an office setting are necessary to succeed in this role.
