The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely production.

This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and experience in the manufacturing industry. The General Manager will be involved in hiring, purchasing, scheduling, customer service, and supervising all personnel. The General Manager will report to the Vice President Operations of parent company Belt Technologies, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Operations:

  • Collaborate with Foreman and/or supervisors to schedule and manage all aspects of weekly production.
  • Ensure all components of orders are ready before scheduling production.
  • Oversee and maintain the supply of raw materials to ensure proper materials are available for each job.

Human Resources & Employee Management:

  • Interview and hire new employees for the plant and office.
  • Manage employee raises and performance evaluations.
  • Supervise staff to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.

Purchasing & Inventory Management:

  • Purchase raw materials needed for manufacturing.
  • Maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Order necessary supplies for production and employees.
  • Ensure order details for crating and shipping are accurately managed.

Sales & Customer Service:

  • Manage inside sales and order desk responsibilities.
  • Assist with quoting for new projects and customer inquiries.
  • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Oversee commission structures for sales personnel.

Engineering & Maintenance:

  • Collaborate with Belt Technologies Engineering Dept on design work and engineering requirements for custom orders.
  • Purchase and maintain equipment to support production needs, as directed.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the building and manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven management experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably steel wire products or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple departments and meet production deadlines.
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
