PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada's largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

The Data Engineering & Business Intelligence Lead is responsible for the design, operation, and governance of PACT's enterprise data and reporting environment. This role provides technical leadership across data engineering, platform administration, and business intelligence, ensuring that accurate, secure, and decision-ready data is available to project teams, leadership, and client stakeholders in alignment with PACT governance and reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Microsoft Fabric data engineering platform, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Design, implement, and maintain a structured Bronze–Silver–Gold data architecture to transform raw project data into trusted, decision-ready datasets
  • Develop and manage automated data pipelines integrating systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and BambooHR into a centralized, secure data environment
  • Establish and enforce data quality, validation, and governance standards across all reporting outputs
  • Design and deliver intuitive, high-impact Power BI dashboards that provide real-time visibility into program performance
  • Develop and automate contractual and client reporting, including Schedule B and Schedule J deliverables
  • Manage dataset refresh schedules and reporting automation to ensure timely, reliable access to current information
  • Act as the technical authority for data security, access controls, and project-level data segregation
  • Serve as a strategic interface between technical data teams and construction, commercial, and executive stakeholders
  • Gather reporting requirements and feedback from leadership and client stakeholders to continuously improve data products
  • Mentor and guide Power BI developers and analysts, promoting best practices in data visualization and analytics
  • Collaborate with the Digital Delivery team to develop custom solutions for complex program data challenges

WORK CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our offices in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the site offices as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am–5:00pm with 1 hour lunch or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated experience leading data engineering and business intelligence functions on large, complex programs
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including capacity management, security, and performance optimization
  • Advanced experience designing and implementing Bronze–Silver–Gold data pipeline architectures
  • Proven experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines from multiple enterprise systems
  • Expert-level capability in Power BI, including dashboard design, data modeling, and report automation
  • Strong understanding of data governance, quality control, and auditability requirements
  • Ability to translate complex technical data into clear, trusted insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting executive-level and contractual reporting requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Experience mentoring technical team members and setting analytics standards
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder infrastructure environments
