A well-established and growing civil construction contractor in the Lower Mainland is looking for a
Civil Estimator
to join its Vancouver-based team. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with strong technical knowledge in civil infrastructure who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of civil projects, including municipal infrastructure, roadworks, utilities, and site development.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare cost breakdowns for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure constructability and alignment with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope reviews.
  • Develop and maintain unit cost databases and historical project data.
  • Support the preparation of project budgets, tender submissions, and cost tracking during project execution.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, preferably in the Lower Mainland region.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction practices, municipal infrastructure requirements, and local market conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as B2W, HeavyBid, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
