In this role, you will:

  • Work morning (7-9 am) and/or afternoon (3-6pm) shifts at various schools around Saskatoon or Warman/Martensville.
  • Implement age appropriate programming ensuring YMCA program standards and YMCA Core Values are met
  • Be a creative play partner who is actively engaged with the children, providing care, mentorship, and assistance to school-aged children.
  • Provide compassionate care to children and quality support their families; taking opportunities to build positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with YMCA policies and procedures
  • Complete general administration tasks as required including Children's sign in and out; ensuring attendance is accurate and up to date; clean and tidy the facilities, and maintaining YMCA Child Protection protocols. 
  • Complete incident and behaviour reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

You bring:

  • Minimum one year of experience in caring for children or running children's programs.
  • A capacity to work within a multiple level reporting structure;
  • Demonstrated professionalism for working with School admin and staff in delivery of shared, quality programs to school families
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
  • Applicants are required to be a minimum of 16 years of age or older as per Ministry guidelines
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • An asset would be holding a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification

Job Type: Contract (Sept-June); up to 30 hrs per week

Salary: Starting wage of $15.25/hour
