Role description: Arcadis is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join our growing team in Edmonton. In this role, you will oversee and guide BIM production teams on large-scale mixed-use high-rise, institutional, and commercial developments, collaborating with architectural teams across Healthcare, Education, and Residential sectors. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills as a key member of our CAD/BIM Coordination and Management team.

Your work will contribute to Arcadis' broader mission of fostering cross-sector synergy by connecting Places, Mobility, and Resilience. You will support global work-sharing, drive standardization and optimization, facilitate collaboration across sectors, and help harness project data throughout its lifecycle for maximum value.

Role accountabilities:

    • Provide expert guidance on model adjustments to eliminate conflicts.
  • Model Management & Compliance
    • Oversee daily management, review, and audit of BIM models to ensure compliance with Arcadis standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and applicable codes.
    • Maintain accurate records of coordination activities, clash resolutions, and decisions.
    • Perform regular audits to uphold data quality and accuracy.
  • Workflow Development & Process Improvement
    • Develop, implement, and refine clash detection workflows and best practices.
    • Prepare and distribute clash detection reports with clear documentation of findings, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
    • Collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot workflow challenges and technical issues.
    • Propose improvements to software tools and modeling processes.
  • BIM Deliverables & Standards
    • Ensure BIM deliverables meet client and project requirements, as well as Arcadis standards.
    • Support production teams to maintain high-quality outputs and compliance with standards.
    • Author and review BIM Execution Plans, ensuring alignment with project procedures.
    • Complete assigned BIM support tasks on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration, Support & Mentoring
    • Work closely with project managers and teams to anticipate BIM service and modeling needs.
    • Mentor and educate staff on BIM best practices, standards, and technical requirements.
    • Lead coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
    • Support staff in adhering to company-wide BIM and CAD standards.
    • Create parametric Revit families to capture design intent and construction logic.
    • Participate in quality management initiatives, including technical assessments and mentoring.
  • Technical Support & Innovation
    • Provide troubleshooting and support for Revit and workflow challenges.
    • Contribute to developing new BIM-enabled design processes and innovative solutions.
    • Maintain expertise through continuous learning, professional development, and research.
    • Support and mentor staff regarding company-wide CAD standards (AutoCAD), as needed.

Qualifications & Experience: Experience & Education

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with Revit and BIM concepts; at least 5 years in architecture focusing on construction documentation and detailing for large-scale, complex projects.
