We are looking for an experienced Behaviour Interventionist to work with a fun and playful 9-year-old boy with ASD. Sessions will be a mix of home sessions and community outings (e.g., park, library, swimming) to practice social skills with peers. You will be implementing ABA programs designed and supervised by a BCBA.

About the Role:

  • Part-time position, 2 days per week
  • Sessions take place after school hours
  • Combination of home-based sessions and community outings
  • Focus on building social skills and independence in natural environments

Duties of a Behaviour Interventionist:

  • Implement behaviour intervention plans and provide direct support to the learner
  • Collect data on target behaviours and skill acquisition
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies with support from the junior/senior behaviour consultant and BCBA
  • Collaborate with other members of the team (e.g., consultants, parents, other professionals) to ensure consistency
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of sessions and progress notes

Requirements:

  • Energetic, patient, and dependable
  • Open to learning and has a positive attitude
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong play skills and willingness to engage in fun, child-led activities
  • Able to commit to the family for at least 1 year
  • Prior training or coursework in ABA or a related field (e.g., Psychology, ECE, Education) is an asset but not required
  • At least 19 years old
  • Able to provide a clear criminal record check (or willing to obtain one)
  • Able to provide at least 2 professional references
  • Bonus: It's an asset if you're a fan of Pokémon and/or dinosaurs
