QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience (recent within the last 2-3 years) as office support in a health-related field required.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required
  • Keyboarding (45 wpm/95% accuracy) and Data Entry (6200 kph/95% accuracy) skills required
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Meditech applications/data entry required
  • Knowledge of child and youth mental health
  • Knowledge of child and youth mental health services and resources within the community is required.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Personal Healthcare Information Protection Act, Hospitals Act required, Child and Family Services Act

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Able to create a welcoming environment, coordinating appointments, calls and general office duties
  • Ability to be adaptable, self-motivated and organize work with minimal supervision to tight time lines
  • Experience in supporting projects including quality initiatives, policies, forms and promotion materials
  • Critical problem solving and decision making skills required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
  • Demonstrated experience in transcription required
  • Must demonstrate good attendance
  • Bilingualism is an asset
